Finding and Following Your Vocational Call
“Sooner or later something seems to call us onto a particular path... this is what I must do, this is what I’ve got to have. This is who I am.”
— James Hillman
Part of my soul’s purpose is to guide other people in finding theirs. Some people are clear from a young age about who they are and what they want to do, while others find it more challenging to listen to what the world wants from them. Sometimes, people hit a time in their lives when their work doesn’t feel meaningful anymore. It may have served their soul for many years, but now they long for something new. Or, they’ve been let go from a job they loved, and they need to find a way to move forward.
My courses are designed for groups of people searching to find and follow their vocational calling. I find that bringing people together brings a certain magic to the process—one that doesn’t happen when we contemplate our careers alone. My course is designed for businesses, organizations, and professional groups and can be designed and delivered to fit an organization’s needs.
Through the course, people discover:
A sense of purpose, calling, and vocation
Clarity in what is truly important to them in their working lives
A deep understanding of their gifts, skills, and experience
Insights from their career journey to date
A clear idea of the next steps to take
An understanding of the internal and external barriers hindering career success
The course utilizes:
Personality systems (such as the Enneagram and the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory)
Dreams as they provide deep insight into our lives, including our careers
Story, modern film, fairy tales, and ancient myth, as they shed light on our personal experiences
Images as they provide a portal into understanding our unconscious motivations and help to transform barriers to self-confidence and career success
